Studying PDHPE in NSW

Personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE) is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.

PDHPE provides students with opportunities to explore issues that are likely to impact on the health, safety and wellbeing of themselves and others – now and in the future. Students also participate in challenging and enjoyable physical activity, improving their capacity to move with skill and confidence.

In Year 11 and 12, courses available include:

  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
  • Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation Studies.

PDHPE at Erina High

Our Facilities

PDHPE lessons have access to:

  • 2 x Outdoor Basketball Courts (Covered)
  • Full size Football Oval
  • Half size Cricket Field,
  • Outdoor Gym
  • School Multi-Purpose Centre (Hall).
  • Class set of Chromebooks

Equipment required for PDHPE Lessons

All practical PDHPE lessons require to students to wear the full Erina HS Sports Uniform (Gold Polo and Black Shorts). Students are encouraged to also bring appropriate footwear for physical activity. At the conclusion of each practical lessons students are required to change back into their full Erina HS uniform. This also includes at the conclusion of Period 5.

In theory (Health) lessons all students in Years 7-10 are provided with a work booklet each term/semester. All students must have all necessary writing equipment including pen and a ruler.
