Our extra-curricular highlights
Illuminate Enterprise Challenge
The Illuminate Enterprise Challenge is an immersive program that blends entrepreneurship, design thinking, and community impact into a dynamic learning journey. Students dive into real-world challenges, crafting innovative solutions with empathy, sustainability, and purpose. Whether tackling economic issues, community needs, or STEM-based innovation, students leave with practical skills, stronger leadership, and a renewed sense of possibility.
Model United Nations Assemby (MUNA)
MUNA is an annual project to educate senior high school students (years 10 - 12) on the United Nations organisation and its vital commitment to world peace, in addition to health, education and living standards around the world. The event provides an excellent forum for students to develop and practice their public speaking skills whilst debating on topical world issues from the perspective of an allocated country.
VET Catering Events
Students gain hands-on experience preparing and presenting food and beverages for a variety of school events, while enhancing practical skills, teamwork, time management, and organisational abilities.
The Mirrabooka Coffee Program
is an initiative where students from the Mirrabooka support unit prepare and deliver coffees to staff across the school, fostering skill development and connection with the wider teaching staff.
The "Chick Chat"
An interactive and supportive program for our Year 7 girls, designed to empower students with knowledge about the physical and emotional aspects of menstruation, as well as practical tips on how to manage it confidently. Each student receives a goodie bag with helpful resources and period products.
The Australian History and Geography Comp
The Australian History and Geography Competitions are school-based opportunities for students to practice their skills, promote interest and be rewarded for excellence, competing for prizes given to the highest-performing student
Junior Dance Groups
Students learn choreography and attend regular rehearsals to perform dance pieces at the Central Coast Dance Festival, as well as at school and community events. They collaborate with peers in their year or stage to develop dance skills and are given opportunities to perform and showcase their achievements.
Peer Mentoring
Guided one-on-one support from Senior students in a weekly setting. The program provides support and mentoring to assist younger students with any work they need help with and the study habits and routines to encourage success.
Homework Club
The program provides the opportunity for students to receive weekly support one-on-one with a teacher afterschool and lunch times to complete homework and study.
Basketball Development Program
The Erina High School Basketball Development Program helps students of all abilities improve their basketball skills, fitness, and teamwork in a supportive environment. It focuses on skill development, game awareness, and sportsmanship while promoting leadership and participation in school and local competitions. It also provides pathways for students to represent the school, connect with the wider basketball community, and pursue opportunities in coaching, refereeing, and sport-related careers.
EHS School Band
The Erina High School Band is a brass and concert ensemble focused on musical development and performance. It provides students with opportunities to build instrumental skills, ensemble teamwork, and confidence through regular rehearsals and school and community performances. The band program benefits students by developing their musicianship, teamwork, and confidence. It fosters creativity, discipline, and commitment while giving students opportunities to perform, collaborate, and represent the school in musical events.
